PASCAL Delivers is a "...rapid book-delivery service provided by South Carolina's virtual academic library. PASCAL Delivers enables students and faculty at South Carolina's institutions of higher learning to request books from any academic library in the state with the click of a mouse. The books arrive at a patron's home institution in just a few business days. While PASCAL Delivers already serves many institutions across the state, the system continues to grow."
How do I request a book?
It's simple! Follow these easy steps:
1. Go into the Edens Library Catalog and do a "Title" search for the book
2. A message will appear that states, "No matches found; nearby TITLES are:" Near that message, you will see the green-and-blue PASCAL Delivers icon. Click on it.
3. Your book's record will appear. Immediately below the record information (you may have to scroll down a little), you should see the links Display Holdings of PASCAL Libraries and beneath that Request this item. Click on Request this item.
4. From the drop-down menu, select your affiliated institution (Columbia College) and click on "Submit above information."
5. Fill in your Name and your Columbia College Unique ID Number. (Students: It's what you log into Koala Connection with. Staff/Faculty: It's your employee ID, which can be found on either your pay stub or accessed online through Koala Connection, under the Employee Info tab.). Click "Submit."
Your book will arrive in approximately 3 business days. Edens Library will notify you when it arrives. You may request up to 25 books.
Can I physically go to another SC academic library that I know has the book I'm looking for and just check it out there, rather than having to wait the 3 days for it to be delivered here to Edens Library?
Yes. Through a program called PASCAL Delivers: Visiting Patron, you may check out up to 3 books this way. You must present a valid school ID, be in good standing with your institution's library, and will need to provide your Unique ID. For students, your Unique ID is what you log into Koala Connection with. For Staff and Faculty, it's your employee ID, which can be found on either your pay stub or accessed online through Koala Connection, under the Employee Info tab.
