Can I surf the Web on library computers?
Yes. Students, faculty and staff are
encouraged to use the computer workstations in the Vandiver Reference
Center for library research. However, general Web surfing, email,
and word processing can be done on these workstations as well as in the Computer
Labs on the 1st floor (basement).

Can I do word processing on library computers?
Yes. However, when working on the computer workstations
in the Vandiver Reference Center,
students are strongly encouraged to bring
their own stick drive. Word processing can also be done in the Computer
Labs on the 1st floor (basement).

Where can I check my email?
Access to email is
available both on the computer workstations in the Vandiver Reference Center as well as in the Computer Labs on the 1st (bottom) floor. However, students, faculty and staff are
encouraged to use the computer workstations in the Vandiver Reference
Center for library research only.

Can I access the Library Catalog and other electronic resources from off-campus?
The Library Catalog
and most of the library's electronic resources are available to current
Columbia College students, staff and faculty from off-campus with
a valid Columbia College email username and password. For a complete
listing of our available online databases, please see the Online
Databases page.
